I have noticed that lately I do some strange things. I have always been random. But you may call it strangers being nice to each other.
1. Random Gift Burger:
About 6 years ago I was working at Burger K. And there was this homeless guy. A few people had already tried to give him money and buy him a sandwich. But he refused everytime. So he was still there when I got off work. I felt in my heart, I wanted to do something nice for him, and buy him a burger. I knew he wouldn't accept if I just bought it, and walked up and gave it to him. So, I clocked out, paid for a burger thru the drive thru; and gave instructions to the cashier to give the burger to the homeless guy.
This way he can eat, and he didn't know who bought it, so he couldn't refuse. :)
2. Random Almond Milk:
I was at the Wally store buying milk, looking thru all the grocer's doors just seeing all the different milks there are now. My daughter and I were thinkin about getting some almond milk. When this lady walks up, goes right to it, and picks up the same almond milk we were considering. So I stopped her, excuse me, I was just wondering....if that milk is good. She stood there for a few minutes explaining all about the milk. What it's made of and how it taste. There are still some nice people left in the world will to help out a stranger, now if we could just get the employees of the market to help like that with a smile. :)
3. Random Shower Curtain:
I was at the Wally store again, and in dire need of replacing my shabby shower curtains. I stood for like 30-40 minutes looking at what must have been only 20 curtains.
Finally I got down to 3 choices under ten bucks. So I sent a picture message to my daughter at home to help me decide. I sent all three in one pic, and I didn't figure it would be long for a reply. I stood for like another dang 15 minutes waiting for her to reply. It seemed like an eternity. So, I finally went and gathered the other things I needed. And I came back to the shower curtain aisle. Still no response from my daughter.
Just looking at all the other ladies grab their choices, I scoped out someone with decent taste in bathroom wear, lol. And I approached this nice lady, excuse me, can u help me decide?
Again, like the other lady, she took the time from her busy day to ask me what colors did I use now, and what did I plan to buy in the future to go with it. Awesome Southern Hospitality. :)
4. Random Raspberry Candy:
One day I was at the $1 store with my husband, and I always look down at the counter in front, to see what kind of good candy they may have cheap. I spotted these Tootsie Roll Raspberry Creams (chocolate drops with creamy raspberry center, for those of you who haven't tried them). So I asked the lady behind the counter if she had tried then, and if they were good. She hadn't. She said she didn't ever go around to that side, she hadn't worked there long. I asked her if she wanted to try the ones I was buying. She turned it down. I paid for them, opened them right in the store, and insisted that she try one. Finally she did. She oooohed and aaaaahed. I just said "See I told you they were good." (I never tried them before that day, trying candy for the first time with a stranger) Then I smiled and wished her a nice day and left. :)
5. Looking Better Glasses:
So, I have a new one to add to the list, lol. I was in Wally store and, this time, it was I that was asked. I rounded the corner, and there was a lady standing, trying to decide between two pairs of reading glasses.
She stopped me, and asked me which looked better. She went on about one being longer than the other. So I asked her which did she perfer. Then told her how I like for mine to fit more compact. And I told her those looked better on her anyway, they went with her hair...she smiled and thanked me.
I seem to think that people are a whole lot more friendlier than they used to be. :))
