Norma Jeane Mortenson aka Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn Monroe was born as Norma Jeane Mortenson on the 1st of June 1926 in the charity ward at the Los Angeles County Hospital. 


spending much of her early life in various foster homes


 She become the world's biggest sex symbol, actress, singer, & film producer
throughout the 1950′s and early 1960′s.


She landed the leading roles in  films such as films such as:
 Don’t Bother to Knock
 Gentlemen Prefer Blondes
How to Marry a Millionaire
The River of No Return
The Seven Year Itch
Niagara,  
The Misfits
and Some Like It Hot


She died of a barbiturate overdose at the young age of just 36
on the 5th of August 1962.

 Her agent Johnny Hyde reportedly convinced her to have two plastic surgeries:



...reshaping the cartilage at the tip of her nose and a chin implant.



 She famously sang “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend,”

 in reality Monroe wasn’t into expensive jewelry.



All the jewelry she owned was costume, 

expect for a diamond ring 

and a strand of pearls given to her 

by her second husband, Joe DiMaggio.



As a child, Norma Jeane lived in an orphanage and had 11 sets of foster parents, after her mother Gladys was institutionalized in the state mental hospital.



She almost chose the screen name of Jean Adair.


She didn’t legally change her name to Marilyn Monroe until Feb. 23, 1956.


She was one of the first women to own her own production company,

 Marilyn Monroe Productions



Her company released only one movie though, 

The Prince and the Showgirl (1957).
