Second Squirrel Hunt

We got up this morning...he was saying "get up baby, so we can go huntin", and we put on all our much needed gear. It was cold as hell this morning, about 25 degrees. So I put on coveralls, jacket, flannell shirt, t-shirt, jeans, hat, wool socks, and my fuzzy boots. He got ready, and we were out the door by 7:30, and at the woods by 8:00. David was having a tizzy fit, because he got too excited and left the house without his cigerettes. He even stopped on the side of the road, turned off the car, said"Tackle box!, always extra cigerettes in tackle box." He ran around to the trunk, opened it, and looked, and all he found was a candy bar, and crackers. LMAO. We went to the management area. This is real wild life folks, so there are suppossed to be squirrels and other critters out here. We pulled off in there, off the road, and we put on our orange vest with our extra shells in it, and our guns. We got in the first section of woods, not deep yet, and loaded our guns this time folks. :)

We walked, and stumbled over weeds, and stickers grabbing at us, crawled over logs, and walked some more. We listened, and I heard what I thought was squirrels, I don't guess it was, bastards. Dave says it was birds. He said he thought they made a bird call for angry birds to find the hunters and kill them. LOL. We rested for a minute on a large tree, and we tromped thru some water up to our eyeballs, needless to say I got my boots wet, again.

After two hours of not spotting one blasted squirrel, we decided to go the house. But first we had to make a trip to Hatchett Ridge so he could re-fill his minnow bucket with river water for his minnows to live a little longer. At home finally, where Dave fixed us buttered-fried bologna, egg, and cheese sandwiches. And then we took a nap to rest up for the next trip.
